Svoboda & Williams is expanding its business into the Czech Republic’s districts, all of which offer a wealth of real estate opportunities. The most dynamically developing of them all is Ostrava in the Moravian-Silesian Region. In the past two years, the renowned Svoboda & Williams agency received exclusive agreements to sell units in the city’s most significant residential projects. It has also established itself in the local market by supporting innovative projects and platforms. In mid-May, for instance, it attended the PULSE Ostrava 2025 conference.
“Ostrava has an enormous potential,” believes Prokop Svoboda, owner of Svoboda & Williams. “It boasts a strategic position, has a quality infrastructure, the population is highly skilled, investment opportunities abound, and the beautiful Beskydy Mountains are at your fingertips,” lists Svoboda. In his estimation, the city will go through a new economic boom that will have a positive impact on the real estate market.
Today, Ostrava showcases an interesting, progressive urban architecture such as the recent unique Nové Lauby residential project, which filled in an empty gap in the very city center. Five interconnecting buildings forming a traditional city block offered 160 apartments. “The Nové Lauby project proved that there is great interest in premium housing in the local market,“ says Eva Grusová, senior property consultant at Svoboda & Williams, who managed the sale together with her team. “Equally as lively is the demand for apartments in Mrakodrap by the architect Eva Jiřičná, which has the potential to be one of Ostrava’s newest icons,” she adds.
Ostrava’s change and transformation from the previous black heart of the republic into an attractive regional center was the topic of the PULSE Ostrava 2025 conference that brought real estate professionals, architects, urban planners, and designers from five countries in Central Europe to the Gong hall in Dolní Vítkovice. Several dozen speakers tried to define the future of this Central European region in their presentations and subsequent debates. Prokop Svoboda shared his experience with building a premium lifestyle brand.
