This newly built authentic log house made of spruce beams, inspired by the traditional cottages of the Vysočina region, but constructed using modern, maintenance-free and durable materials features a hand-built stove and two terraces made of natural stone. The house is located in the village of Hamry, nestled in the picturesque countryside near Hlinsko by the Chrudimka River, on the border of the Iron Mountains and the Žďárské Hills.
On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room with a kitchen, one bedroom, a bathroom (with a ceramic bathtub, sink, and toilet), a utility room, a staircase hall, and an entrance hall. The interior opens onto two natural stone terraces. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms and a bathroom (with a shower, sink, and toilet).
The windows are handcrafted wooden casement windows with triple glazing, made by a carpenter. The custom-made green-tiled stove with a built-in bed-heating platform is also handcrafted. The beams are treated with oil-based paints, and the interior doors feature ceramic handles. Under floor heating under the ceramic tile floors on the ground floor (leather-look design); radiators upstairs. One of the terraces is prepared for a sauna or Jacuzzi. The roof is covered with recycled, maintenance-free shingles. The joints between the beams are filled with a special long-lasting sealant that requires no future maintenance. The house is connected to the municipal water supply and sewage system. A rainwater retention tank is used for garden irrigation. The landscaped garden features ornamental solitary trees (cypresses, spruces, and pines), and the terraces are finished with natural porphyry stone.
The village, where historical log houses have been preserved, is located just 5 minutes from the charming town of Hlinsko, which offers full amenities and a wide range of cultural and sports activities. The surrounding beautiful landscape, with deep forests, is interlaced with hiking and bike trails. In winter, groomed cross-country ski tracks are available, and a 470-meter ski slope is just 5 minutes from the house. A golf course is located about 10 minutes away in nearby Svratka and Svobodné Hamry.
