Offering a lifestyle fit for a chateau, this newly completed project comprises seven terraced houses. The stone building, originally a coach house from 1841, provides stylish living with a garden and parking in a peaceful setting next to the castle park in Vimperk, a picturesque town in the foothills of the Šumava Mountains.
About the project
The building was originally constructed by the noble Schwarzenberg family, who owned the Vimperk Castle from 1719 until the 20th century. The complete renovation—now nearing completion—will provide homes with modern comforts while preserving the building’s historical character, reflected in the vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. Highlights include a private garden for each unit, hassle-free parking, and a unique location.

Houses
The largest house will feature a 5-bedroom layout with an open plan kitchen (6+kk), while the remaining houses will have 2-bedroom or 3-bedroom layouts, ranging in size from 90 m2 to 197 m2. Facilities include Velux skylights with triple glazing, wooden triple-glazed windows with black frames on the ground floor (one house will have aluminum windows), a chimney prep for fireplaces, vinyl floors, underfloor heating with separate zones for each room, air-conditioning in larger houses, gas boilers, and the option for solar panels. Each garden will feature a larch wood terrace and a water connection. Sound insulation between units will be enhanced. All houses come with exclusive use of two or three outdoor parking spaces (one prepped for EV charging) and a southwest-facing garden bordering the castle’s game preserve.
Location
This impressive location, rich in history, lies adjacent to the Vimperk Castle grounds, which are finally being revitalized after years of neglect. Mature greenery surrounds the building, with the gardens directly bordering the preserve. The nearby area includes an arboretum, the deep forests of Vodník Hill, an open-air theater stage, and a sports and recreation complex. The town center with all necessary amenities is just a 15-minute walk away.
